Spring Creek Report

Dudes- I fished with a friend today. First time there & man do you all have a beautiful fishery there! We saw a few Olives come off around 3 for about 45 min. then it stopped. Saw some little ones gulping midges in the Paradise in the early afternoon.
I didn't get my game together until the afternoon. Winter has rusted me up quite a bit. My friend caught about 10 mostly fishing deep with tungsten head nymphs.

It is a beautiful place & the Trout population is great, but I learned quickly they aren't push overs. I'll be back for another beating when it warms up a bit.

    hows that new tip?

One broke last week. First time out. I used the other. Sage is gonna send me a new deal. Something wrong with the butt section Ferrel. I told them before, but they didn't listen.

Got a new Orvis Power Matrix in da mail yesterday (replaced an old rod I broke). It's a 7' 4 wt.. Seems sweet in the living room. Gonna let the little duud fish it. I have a little Battenkill C&P (one of the Hardy ones) that fits it perfect. Gonna give it a go manana.

FFD- Now that I've seen it I'll def. be back. What a great fishery. Proves I need to get out more. I need to get a little lawn time in on my casting. It is sub par for casting over those currents at the moment. I know what I'm doing wrong, but to correct it will take a few lawn sessions. Need to retrain my muscle memory on my pause/forward stroke.
I had a great time. Those hills are pretty.

I don't know what your deal is with your back.  But, for what it's worth, have you tried wearing one of those belts like they sell either for weight lifting or general back support while fishing?  I tore a muscle back there and it gave me problems for about 6-8 months.  I'd aggrivate it just doing something minor, and it'd hurt like hell for a couple weeks.  This kind of belt was worth it's weight in gold.  I wore it without the suspenders, and still wear it if I'm doing some kind of labor, but haven't needed it for fishing for a while.

Yeah- I have one. Thanks. Sometimes it helps for a little while.  If I fish on soft ground it doesn't bother me nearly as much as say walking on a road. I'll be going to UPENN soon for help.

I just got a new custom 5wt built on a American Tackle blank.  It's the Matrix I think.  It's sweet to the eyes and has better feel than my Loomis.  And the complete rig was only 150.  If your on a budget I'd find one of those.
