st croix avid model af909

Bought this at an auction for the reel that was on it and had to buy the combo. 9ft, 9 weight . Looks to me to be hardly used. $145. Never fished for salmon and doubt if i will so it needs to go.

    davef,

I would be interested if it was a four piece rod.
    It's two piece, right?

    davef,

I have a brand new, never used Cabelas Fish Eagle II spinning rod that I want to get rid of.
I bought it with the intension to use it at the Salmon River.  I never made the trip.  It's a three-piece 9 foot, model GS906C-3, that retails for $80.  It's a steelhead/king salmon rod.
Maybe we can make a deal for the 9wt. rod?

Greg:  The wife would kill me if i bring another rod into the house. At last count i had 24 rod and reel combos laying around and some haven't been picked up for 10 years (ie 2 ambassador 5500c'3s with rods that i got for stripers) when i planned to fish for them at raystown.

When i got this outfit i promised her i would sell the rod.

    davef,

I still might be interested in this rod.

Is it charcoal colored (old model) or dark green (current model)?
Does it have a rod case?

    I really wish it was a 4-piece, 9'6" rod.

Greg:  To me it looks to be a dark gray color. The lady i bought it from claims it was a gift to her husband for a one time salmon trip about 2003. I asked her about a case and bag but she said he only get the rod with reel and line so no it has no bag or case.

Greg: The other fellow called and said he couldn't make it this week. I'll hold the rod till you get a chance to look at it as long as your still interested.

If you do take it i have what looks like a cabelas prestige 9 weight forward taper line thats on the reel. If you have an extra 7 weight forward taper line that you would want to trade for it i'll bring it along also. If not i'll put the line on ebay.

    davef,
Sorry it took so long to get back to ya.
I definately don't need the fly line, but I would maybe buy the rod at a bargain price.
