TUNNEL HILL

A good while back you could drive clear down to the bridge on the Driftwood branch at Tunnel Hill. Last time I was up there it was posted and gated. Can you still walk in?

Walk-ins are allowed at Tunnel Hill.  There is still great fishing down there and it never gets crowded becuase few are willing to walk in.

Tunnel Hill. Its great to hear about it. It has great memories for me. 50 years long. I was taught fishing there. With my dad, uncle, and grandad. Some of the greatest scenery on earth is found there. Also some very lovely water. And thank god it is still open to anyone. As albatross said. Walk ins only.

While they might not take a truck right down to it they still stock just up the road at Mason's Farm.  A lot of those fish probably make their way down.  My personal favorite is the Sterling Run area.  Lots of good memories there.  I don't catch em there like I used to though.  My best spot now is upstream a few miles.

Great memories for sure. I had a dear friend down by Tanglefoot where we stayed, and that's the place I learned to fish a half century ago. It was my Dad's favorite place. The browns used to have a very different coloring to them. Great bear and turkey area as well. I plan to spend some quality time there this spring ...Lord Willing.

The spill from the railroad a couple years back broke my heart.  Fortunately the stream seems to be recovering well.  Unfortunately though it seems like the number of stocked trout keeps going down.
