Chest Creek

Anyone know if the Delayed Harvest Area on Chest Creek is frozen over? I plan on making a trip out on Sunday and an info. on creek conditions would be of great help.

Thanks,

May the holes in your net be no larger than the fish in it.

I haven't seen Chest recently, but I drove past the upper parts of the little J and much of Spruce Creek on Sunday and they were both frozen up pretty bad.  I would be willing to bet just about all of the freestoners will be locked up pretty tight judging by what the limestoners looked like.  Once again, these are merely some observations from somewhat local streams so take it for what it is worth.

I live near Chest Creek and the slower water is frozen up. The faster water should be ok. Snow will be a problem as there is over a foot on the ground. the steam is low and clear.  Gobe

Here is a tip for fishing Chest Creek during the winter. If the Delayed Harvest section is frozen up, try the section that runs through Patton. I belong to the local nursery and we keep it stocked with fish. It very seldom freezes over and there is plenty of deeper holes. It is easily accessible and there are places to park.    Gobe
