Antietam Ice Fishing

fished sunday -- 19th

ice was 5-6 inches thick.........

anyway.........caught 6 trout--not as big as last trip..........
6 yellow perch.........and 4 bluegills..........

Fished from 1230 until 5 pm............lots of folks on the ice..........saw a few fish caught........most folks had tip-ups out...........seen maybe one or two flags pop all day..........all my fish were caught jigging a spoon or jig.....and a tung-head jig head tipped with spikes............

If anyone wants to reach bottom and help balance out your tiny jigging rod.....use a tungsten jig head.........it hits the bottom fast.......and keeps tension on the rod........you can see the slightest twitch........and you are certain to know where the bottom is

used a St. Croix legend ice rod with the spring  bobber thing attached to it.........well worth the money................lets you see every little twitch of your jig........another good little jigging rod is called ICE BLUES by HT.....cheap little rod........but very sensitive........I have caught plenty of fish on that tiny rod over the years........blast to fish with
