Top: Ice fishing bait and tournament!

THE TOURNAMENT IS STILL ON! 

Talked to the owner Jerrry on 2/11/09 @ 9:40 am .  The ice is still better than 10 inches and with the warm weather leaving tonight there will be plenty of ice for this weekend. 


Timberland Bait has the best selection on bait in the area.  Currently the shop has a large supply of small golden shiners, medium golden shiners, large golden shiners, suckers, rosies (hybrid golden fatheads), small fatheads, large fatheads, grubs, and wax worms.  ALL baits are certified. There will be plenty of bait availiable for the Ice Fishing Tournament too.

Ice Fishing tournament information is listed below.

Starts at 8:00am February 14th and runs until 5:00pm February 15th

$10.00 entry fee for adults and $5.00 for kids under 12. There will be CASH prizes for biggest fish of each species (Crappie, Perch, Gills, Bass, Walleye, Northern Pike, and Musky)
There will be free Hotdogs, Sloppy Joes, and Hot Coffee served on the ice at 12:00pm sharp both Saturday and Sunday (first come first serve)

    How is the ice fishing up there right now? Anyone catching fish?

    I am going there later this week with a friend or two to fish and try to find the eyes and muskies for the tourney. I know the fishing there can be very productive if you are in the right spots.  I have caught nice sized northerns and had a few monster muskies follow my lures right to the boat.  Last summer a guy trolling boated a 50 musky.  As for the crappies look for them on deep brush piles this time of year.

    last year there was about 200 anglers.  hoping for the same or more this year.

    Just a reminder that the tournament is still on for next weekend.  If the tournament dates get rescheduled i will post a new thread with the new dates and times of the event.
