Moraine

Has anybody been to Arthur lately? I'm wondering if there's any open water with this warm weather we've been having. Got the itch to wet a line......

I was hunting up there on Friday morning and was walking on the ice in one of the back bays.  Seemed thick enough that I was think about ice fishing it later that day in relatively shallow water.  I wimped out though.  Even with this warmup, I'm not sure there will be any open water.

      Kevin,

there were a few boats out on the 30th. On new years eve. Muddy Creek arm, Shannon Run, Swamp Run & the main lake near the 528 launch was 99% open water.

      Mike,

someone dumped a sofa at the sm. craft launch

     Kev.,

I took off work all last year to hunt/fish, spend time with the kids & screw off. This year I decided  not to fish at all & get somethin' done.

Fished at Muddy Creek today from 12 to 3:30 with my son. 3" of ice with 6" to 8 " inches snow on top with lots of wet spots. I can not recomend this to be safe ice for Sunday. Only caught gills in 6' of water. If you like to gamble and try it tomorow, don't go alone and take safety gear.
