Starting Duck hunting

I am looking to start hunting some duck this year... I know its kinda late but we were gonna give it a try bc of the recent nice weather. Has anyone been around the Slippery Rock area or around Washington with any success? I am just looking for a general overview of places to concentrate on and tactics.

thanks,
Justin

Sorry no replys, let me say several things. One, the season is winding down, wrong time for the post. Two, do a search and find some waterfowler specific forums. Very little to be gained here by comparison. Three, if you were closer to Erie I could help a little more.

If I agreed with you we would both be wrong

Hopefully this urge will go away before next season.  If it doesn't expect to be the proud owner -if you already aren't- off a who;e bunch of new things...
A canoe, or boat, a new shot gun(s), a dog, dozens of new decoys...

    Happens to everyone!

it is an addiction.  i always thought that half the fun was the anticipation of the season starting, the anticipation of seeing flight ducks, and the anticipation of the shot as ducks wheeled around and came into my dekes.

if you are going to get into it, head up to linesville, on the north end of pymatuning, the third weekend of september.  there is a big ducks unlimited waterfowl expo for the whole weekend.  can learn quite a bit up there.
