SWPA lab rescue or anyone have a chocolate lab in need of a home?

Hi guys,

My inlaws are looking for a chocolate lab. My brother in law just moved out and is taking his dog with him. They have a black one already that is pretty old. The young chocolate was keeping her very active and my in-laws would like to get another.

Doesn't need to be a hunting dog (it won't be hunted) and they aren't looking for a puppy. They would like a dog that is 2-4 years old, female, and housebroken if at all possible. Obviously it has to be good with other dogs and cats. They live on top of the mountain in Latrobe/Ligonier so it will be an inside country dog in a great home.

There are plenty of hunting bred dogs around for $$$, but they just want a house dog.

Any leads?

Thanks,
Rick

    Rick,

There's a few out there right now.  New Castle, Everett, and a couple other places.  Males, Females, pups, young & old.

2 year old Female, "Lily" in New Castle.

I took mine on her first real fishing trip last weekend, she's 9 months.

    Good Luck!

    John,

She's doing great!  Spooked every trout in a little brookie stream.  But on that bigger creek, she was real good.

    Hi Mika,

Unfortunately, they want a female.  And now they are talking about puppies also, not just young dogs.

Thanks for the leads guys, I'll keep looking.

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Hi marty,

We've already gone through the PG and other online papers.  Seems all of the ads up are from breeders asking $500+ ($1200 for one of them) for puppies.

    Thanks,
    Rick

    Rick,
There are a few that meet your criteria in that link I posted, however all the youngish females are either in Ohio, Central PA or Maryland.  There's a Lab recscue in Silver Spring MD, I know how far of a drive that is from Ligonier, but...
