Go to your Photobucket picture and copy the IMG code, when back here click the add image box (last box on the right above your post entry) and paste the img code you copied from Photo bucket.

Pretty easy , good luck !!

If that does not work, email me your pic usabrian126@yahoo.com

hey, thanks for the help brian. when i copied the the IMG thing then pasted it, i had to erase the [img] at the beginning and end. Anyway.
I'm from the Capital District, all these pics are from down in waterford.
This year was the first year i ever fished for catfish. And me and one of my friends basically cracked out on it. It took me until october 18th, but i finally got my first ten pounder.

While i was getting pics of this one and releasing it, my other pole went off. My second 10 pounder.

And just recently, november 18th (25 degrees and snow showers) i got a 10 1/2 lb 31 inch Channel Cat.

Here's some of my friends big fish. 10 lbs. November 16th.

    An 11 pounder 9-2-08

Slightly under 10 lbs. 30 inches October 7th.

    9lbs. 11-18

a double header Mine (left 5 lbs) his (right) 7 1/2 lbs.

and finally a Cool litlle Mud Puppy

i Hate to think the season is over, been out a couple times in the last week and got skunked.

Yeah, when you hook into a big cat on a bass pole your definately in for a fight.
As for the cold weather, i've caught more big ones since it's gotten cold out. they are in shallow water this time of year. they seem to be moving around a lot though, one week we catch one after another and the next barely anything (except for mud puppies)

yeah, they are brutes and they are addictive, i thought i hooked a beaver, it ate a small shiner on a float an hr. before sunrise.. it almost spooled me under a  bridge. I was so glad it turned back downstream and after about 15 minutes managed it in. Was tightening down almost to 8lbs.drag on a shimano 2000 stradic and a bass pro extreme im7 6 ft 1 pc. med. bass rod was like an ultra light! It bent a mustad #6 hook when i was using my forcips , those fish are strong tough and powerful. I wish i had a pic of it to showoff..  released to fight another day.

hey thanks brian, i'd love to target them in a boat some day, i'm definately limited when shore fishing.
i definately believe there are huge ones out there, i use a snelled striped bass leader with a big circle hook (premade in the saltwater section in dicks) and i hooked into a fish that felt like a log. it took off and snapped my leader like dental floss.
state record is 32 lbs. so i have some work to do!!

and all my cats were released to go out and make more big kitties.

Dude those are some nice cats!  What kind of stink were you using to get those? Dead stuff or live?  I caught a whole mess of them when casting cut herring for stripers in the spring... one bottomed out my 10# scale.  I would like to target them more myself next year.

i think we've used just about anything you can think of this year. we've used chunks of fish (sunfish),nightcrawlers (though you tend to get picked apart by silver perch), we've used live minnows from a bait shop, we've caught them on live minnows but it seems the dead minnows work better. once they have died just cut a few slices in them so they have a better blood trail for the cats to find. we also tried live crayfish, that works alright. with the crayfish you also have the chance of pulling in a smallmouth or a nice sheepshead. the sheepshead tend to bite the heads off the crayfish and leave the rest behind. i got 2 nice sheepshead this year 6 lb. and 5 lb. we've used salmon fillets from price chopper and that works really well because they have good tough skin to stay on the hook.
and we started the year off using herring chunks. we got a bunch from conroys in watervliet, he had fresh ones that hadn't been frozen yet. we got tons of cats with them.
out of all the stuff we've tried i recommend chucks of dead fish, herring or sunfish. whatever is available.

Hey thanks for the info.  I hope to get into some big'ns like those. These channel cats are really a boon to the river, I'm glad they're thriving. River used to be loaded with bullheads, looks like they got muscled out.   I was getting them in Menands and Wvlt and at the dam... never got any in Waterford though... were you by the Erie canal?  I guess night time is the hot ticket.  Well good luck out there and welcome to the fishin board.

we spent most of our time fishing by lock 2 (the entrance to the canal) and did really well there. i honestly only caught only a couple bullheads all year. i use bigger pieces of bait to avoid them, they still nibble at them but they can't get the whole thing and take the hook. but we found a new "sorta secret spot" which i've been sworn to secrecy on. it's a sorta secret spot because of all the empty beer bottles and nightcrawler containers scattered around.
as for eating them, there is a sign right at lock 2 telling of the pcb's in the fish, so i'm not taking any chances. here's a pic of the sign along with a LUNKER smallmouth i caught.

I've been spending too much time over on 'The Shanty' with a few of you other dudes and needed to check in...

    Pike- sweet fish, man!!!

Looks like we've got another Albany guy to party with!  You should come over this winter and hit the ice with us.  I live just across the Hudson near Wynantskill.  Some of us tend to hang out on occassion and chase fish now and then.  And sometimes we drink beer and stuff too.

Shoot- I might just skip Stripers all together and hammer Cats this Spring!  Oh wait- Brian said he's going to show me whats up with those Stripers, so nevermind
