skein

does anyone know how i can remove the membrane from the eggs after curing them without destroying them,so i can make some sac's? Anyinfo would be appreicated

    they should fall off just pick them off what you want for salmon is whole eggs they do come off after cure i have done cure befor and had to use borax still after cureing

    thanks lead for the info i want to get the misses up there before it gets to cold
    she likes her spinning reel. so i am going to skein her up lol.

    I usually just cut the skien smaller then I usually would and tie that up as a sac. Haven't noticed any difference over the number of hits as compared to tying up with loose eggs. Plus its a little easier to tie IMHO since you have a clump of eggs rather than a bunch of loose eggs.

    my brother inlaw only fishes for salmon and he prefers skein over anything else he has a good hook up ratio so he does not want to try anything else .i my self like to cast and feel a little more enjoyment when hooking but to take a break from casting ill use eggs when eating   or what ever i always get my fish that is a reason i have guys who go who never went this weekend i was asked to go but at this point im passing its only one guy

    pro cure and then use borax to stop the mush and help dry it out i think im out of eggs or id post what they look like frozen cured ,strongly sugg doing a naut color or flame red and orange no greens seen green it look nasty i think the guy used geliton i use the red most hope that helps and do eggs fast as soon as poss not a week later i mean hrs

    I got my cure from Poor Richards.  It's a red powder that you sprinkle on the eggs and they dye red.  I caught about 7 steel one morning in an hour on them when no one else was getting a bite.  Different colors can help big time.

    i alays wash the eggs off with fresh water then pat them dry then cure them the deep red kicks but i had used gello for color that does work also just a old trick
