ROD????????????

I want to give pinning a try I am going to get a St Croix wild river rod. I was thinking of getting the
10'6 rod because I fish alot of the smaller tribs. It also comes in A 13'. Which do you recomend and why??

i have an 11'6 wild river.  in my opinion, even 10'6 might be a tad too small for even the erie tribs.  would it work? yeah, but the 11'6 gives you far superior line control, and if you used both on even the smallest trib in erie you would certainly go with the 11'6, simply for the fact you can keep your line off the water longer.  my feeling is the 11-12 foot length is ideal for erie.

get the 13' rod. Any stream worth fishing a pin on in Erie will take a 13' rod.

    thanks

Doesn't really matter, you're gonna want them both. I'd get the 13 first though.
