Perfect Day!

First time out(had to work til today) and it could not have been better. 33 degrees in So. Lycoming Co. this morning. 8 A.M. the wind changed direction and had a deer snort at me. Never saw it but there were more than one. 8:30 had a mature doe pick me out at about 30 yards, watched her put a show on for me (head bob, foot dance) and off she walked. 8:35 saw a bunch of deer coming straight at me(about 5 or 6). They all stopped under a big bush. Drew back and waited for one to step out. She stepped out and I nailed her at a mere 12 yards, deer ran everywhere! Took my stuff back to my truck. Found her about 10:00. My arrow took out the liver and a lung. She went 200 yards with only small drops of blood to follow. While I was gutting her I watched 2 huge doe walk right by me at about 35 yards. Never even saw me! They just walked and fed along. Found a fresh rub. Hope everyone has some luck! This is what I waited for ALL YEAR. All my hours of scouting and mowing trails paid off big time. Now I can relax and wait for that big buck!!!  Because there is meat in the freezer.

Forgot to mention the doe I havested had a belly full of corn. Don't know if it means that the deer are focusing on the corn fields or not, but might help some of you guys key in on that food source right now. My woods still had a lot of acorns on the ground.   Good Luck!
