Coyotes

My long range archery surveyllance has taken a turn in the last few days.  After seeing my deer pattern, which has been rock solid for the past 4 weeks, I am seeing nothing but coyotes in a certain field.

I have been carrying the 257 roberts since then and have taken 4 coyotes so far.  The shots don't seem to bother the deer this early in the season either as exactly 4 minutes after I shot one 3 bucks wandered out and started feeding the other night.

Anyone else do well on yotes at this time of year?

That's awesome.  You are a menace to the coyote population.  Excellent.

Was hanging a stand this past Saturday in western Allegheny Co. when I heard some rustling in the leaves.  I turned to see two coyotes comming out of a thicket and headed right at me. While dangling in my safety harness from a tree 25 ft in the air I managed to nock an arrow and draw. At 23 yds I centered my pin on the largest yote...it didn't go 15 yds before it crashed. Hopefully I'll get a crack at the other on before the season is over. About a half hour after the shot I had a curious 2.5 yr old 9 point with a split brow come under my stand.  It hung around for about 5 min sniffing where I had laid down my pack and the trunk of the tree that I was in, then went over to check out the fresh kill. Unalarmed, it walked away out of site.

You can sure tell the yote population around my place has dropped. I've been seeing alot of stray cats in the woods...

Lots of coyotes out there. I have gotten pictures of them on my trailcam twice this month.
