Buck/Doe ratios

While I believe that article to be correct that isn't what Alt and the PGC were telling us when they were trying to sell HR/AR. The 10-1 and 15-1 were the numbers they were spouting. In fact Alt refered to our ratio as so bad it was "corrupt". The only ones I remember questioning those high numbers was that nasty organization  Jim Silinsky was a part of. Remember him? Apparently not all QDMA members agree though as here is some exercpts from a 2003 newsletter put out by the Pike County QDMA.
 
 
Our field observations at the Milford Experimental Forest indicate a ratio of six or seven antlerless deer for every antlered buck, which translates to about four reproductive does for every mature buck. 
 Putting the QDMA Philosophy Into Practice:   The goals of the QDMA are almost identical to the changes that Dr. Gary Alt has been making in PGC regulations.

Well-hate to go but Colorado's elk bull /cow ratio needs worked on and I am going to try to do my part.
