hey man, whatcha usin ??

As I start gearin up for that steelhead frenzy, I was wondering , what is the first thing you tie on,having no idea what there smashing? personally I tend to go artificial, sucker spawn or a single egg patern and being a pin fishermen do you perfer live bait or artificial on a normal basis?

    i fish artificial, and usually use jigs or small artificial rubber worms. every now and then if the water is crystal clear i will try flys for sh*ts and giggles, but haven't got into one yet with that. I know some people that use minnows with their pin setups....i dont know why, then again...minnow fishing for steelies drives me nuts (unless you are a beginner) JIMO

    This is one of my favorite jigs.  I have had exceptional luck with it in NY waters.

    Minnows is what i'll start with it.  Then come jigs and everything else.  Not big on sacs usually unless i have eggs to tie my ow.
