Dropshot knot
I remember reading that a dropshot hook is tied with a palomar knot. This ensures that the hook is positioned correctly? I done this several times with fireline and stren superbraid etc.....succesfully.....Now for fishing Erie i want to switch to a fluoro...Can the palomar knot still be used with this line....I remember that this was a braided line knot only??

It works fine! I use the palomar knot for just about everything I have to tie...hooks, spinners, cranks, you name it! Mono, fluoro, braid...

A few key tips for the palomar and floro on a drop shot:
1. Always wet the knot/line well prior to tightening it down.
2. After tying the knot, run the tag end of the line down through the eye. This will ensure that the hook point stands up.
I use 6 lb Gamma Edge floro (sometimes go as low as 4 lb test with same line) and have never broken a fish on it!
