Hunted all morning today (which was a beautiful day BTW) and didn't see or hear a bird.  After dinner, I went out to put gas in the car.  Maybe 200 yards from the house a huge gobbler walks right in front of me, hops the guard rail, and flies off down the hill.  Oh well, at least I know there's one around.

I believe 100% of that story, it has happened to me hundreds of times

I was out yesterday morning(first time this season) and heard one gobble at about 5:45am so I settled in and waited. As it got light I saw a bird in a tree about 150 yards from me. It gobbled again and flew down. Forty-five minutes later I see a red head coming through the wheat field right up to my two decoys....a small bearded bird. I shot it only to have two other very large birds flush about 20 yards from me. Went out last evening to shoot some hogs and saw three more gobblers. They are being very quiet. Three birds yesterday morning and only two gobbles and three birds last night with no talking at all. They were different birds from two completely different areas.

Yeah, I heard one yelping this morning, and nothing else, tho I did get out late due to work.  Alls quiet in my neck of the woods.

It happened again!!!!  I was out all morning today, set up in two spots and run and gunned in between.  Didn't hear a peep or get a glimpse while hunting, but when I was walking home,a bird was running thru a neighbors yard!  It then flew across the road and landed somewhere in the valley in which I'd spent the entire morning!

I'm starting to think the birds are mocking me!
