Carp action is really picking up at both lakes. I inadvertanly hooked into a monster that was close to 25# while I was fishing for crappie with my 7' ultra-light with a mini-foo.Took Quite a while before I was able to land it. What a blast. We have hooked about 1/2 a doz. this week with jigs. Everything is hitting now. sam

Sam what would be a good spot if i was to target carp????
Does anyone fish with doughball up there??

Which lake has the largest in it? Or which lake has the largest been caught from I should say. Is there tons of guys fishing for trout there still? I wasn't sure if it gets really crowded.If I fish for strictly carp since its a lake do I need a trout stamp too since they stock trout? Thanks a lot.

Fishes in “approved trout waters” on March 1 through May 31.
You will need a trout stamp if you fish it during this time period.

There are a few guys that use doughball,but not a lot of guys fish for carp there. There are huge carp in both lakes. I normaly fish the upper lake when I target carp because it is smaller & easier for me to get around because of my back, I would suggest the end nearest the railroad because it is shallower. Be advised that this early in the year it is hard to get a parking spot at the upper lake. sam

I agree with mr. crappie, my best and biggest have been the upper lake shallow end, closest to railroad. Caught some monsters there over the years.

both the upper and lower lakes hold a good number of large carp. i'd say both lakes are equal when it comes to carp size. the upper lake is easier to fish since it's smaller and has less structure. i walked around the wooded side of the lower lake this past week and saw a couple giant carp very close to shore.

during the summer the carp fishing is pretty easy at night. lots of carp will usually congregate near the wall between the rocks/boathouse.

the last couple summers i've seen a strange bright (neon) orange carp in the lower lake, has anybody else seen this fish?

you bet ! lots of fun I fish them on top with a hook & a piece of bread floating it . great fun with 4 test !
