It won't effect my fishing or traveling north. I took up some summer work roofing on the side to support my habit. It's a bummer for people who do cut back, but it mostly depends on how bad you want it. Right now, hard work gets me to the lake on the weekends ! An additct will always find a way..........

I'm actually getting a camp up there soon so that I don't have to drive back and fourth as much!

i don't feel the gas prices will stop guy's from being here in the fall . there are to many die hard steelheader's out there. it just might slow down on the number of fishermen at one given time (except at the mouth of walnut). so you should have a chance to do some combat fishing along the wall at walnut this fall. and yes there should be pleanty of angler's car pooling this fall as with every other year. i feel there should be a little and i mean just a little more room to fish in the upper section's of walnut & elk creek's durning the week this season. if your willing to walk a little. let's just hope there will be steelies in the upper section's of elk by mid oct. we didn't last year. we'll that's all for now. i'll just shut up and fish.

There still will be crowds but gas prices have effected most everything, Steelheading will be affected also. forget the guy who says I'll go no matter what. If you don't have the extra money it ain't happening.

I think with the increase in the price of gas many guys will be less likely to take the trek up to the streams when the conditons are marginal.  What I think will happen is people will tend to cluster their trips at the peak of the season and during that time, there may actually be an increase in fishing pressure.  Just my two cents worth...

I agree with bug, but I also think that the people driving up will stay longer and make fewer trips. I also think that the conditions will mean little. I'm fortunate and live within 30 minutes of Elk and 3 minutes away from 20 mile and drive by both to get to work so you can belive I'll be posting reports of the conditions.

I'm just gonna squat at the stop sign hole...maybe a nice refrigerator box with a blue tarp...

I figure the Russians  (Oops, I'm sorry; the far eastern europeans) will just snag more on each trip to make up for the price of gas.

I always bring a few other guys up with me.  Split the gas money three or four ways, its not so bad.

It's nice to see the prices coming down, it was a good feeling to hear the news how many fewer miles Americans drove in May, but if the prices keep coming down, it will be a challenge to see if people can maintain instead of blowing it again.

You stop the wind, I'll buy the gas!

2-4's and 3-5's are gettin' old.

Seriously though, I think the price of fuel has to slow a lot of people down.

There will be less vehicles in the lots and pull-offs, but they will be newer vehicles.
