Status: offline 		When fishing tandems what ind of rig does everyone use?
I have recently switched over to using the eyelet of the first fly... previously, i did bend in the hook

what are the opinions on...
-Blood/sugerons knot with a long tag
-eyelet of first fly
-bend of the first fly

am i missing any?

Status: offline 		I normally tie an additional piece of tippet to the eye of my top fly, generally somewhere between 18-24".  I am not a big fan of tying the dropper to the bend because it inhibits any motion the top fly may have.  The only time I tie droppers on the bend is when I want an emerger or wet to trail a dry.  Probably the best way to do IMO is to leave a 4-6" tag from a blood or even a surgeons knot attach top fly to that.  I just often get lazy and stick to the way I have always done it, I should think about using the knot-tag rig more.

Status: offline 		Even with a single rig it's better to add your shot on the blood knot tag end.  It gets your fly down quicker because it allows for more shot, doesn't lock up presentation and your hang ups with decrease subtantially.  You'll be able to feeling the ticking on the bottom, ensuring you're where you need to be.

Status: offline 		I tried it all when fishing with droppers and the best way I've found is to tie into the bend of the hook on the first fly. I've never broken off a fish due to a knot slipping like I have when trying to use the tag of a blood knot and it doesn't get tangled as much tying into the bend of the hook.

I've had awesome success fishing for steelhead this way under a strike indicator / float can't beat fishing two sucker spawn flies in this manner.

Status: offline 		tie 2 perfection loops on your leader at whatever distance apart you like to tie tandems.  then tie a short piece of tippet, 6"-8", to the loops and tie on the flies.  i like to use fluoro line because it's a bit stiffer and tangles less.

Status: offline 		When I teach nymphing and when I nymph myself, I set up my nymph rig in-line, meaning the shot is on the tippet, and the tippet that attaches the second fly is tied to the bend of the hook on the first nymph. You will tangle much less doing it this way compared to tying a fly or adding shot to the tag end of a blood knot.

Status: offline 		i have always been using the inline rig for nymphing, but just have recently switched to second fly through the eyelet...
I could see it being a proble on longer casts, but haven't had any problems on short flips and high sticking

i have always fished inline for dry droppers and was thinging about going out of the eyelet

Status: offline 		Through the eye...more action, less foul hooked fish, less bent hooks when snagged.
If you fish three wets then you want to take the time to tie droppers.
If you use a loop connection on your leader, you can tie up your own tapers with droppers built in. When you want to swing wets, simply take one leader off and put on the pre-made dropper system. Saves time...

Status: offline 		There were 2 articles this year in magazines about this thing hehe.Perhaps I am lazy or set in my ways, but I still like to tie off the bend of the first fly. Although like mentioned above I did remember once or twice to leave some extra bit of a tag, when I tied some tippet on and tried a extra fly once and used weight another time. Makes alot of sense to tie off the eye, if you have the space to do so.
