yep, used to all the time.  Flies and single eggs mostly.  Maggots/was worms work awesome too.

Dru,

I run 11'6" or 13', depeding on how big the water is.  Still trying to get the funds together to build a 15'er.

My pin will see the streams on sunday when alot of the fair weather anglers are home, I'll be casting single eggs and nymphs, I'll be using my 13 foot rod, but I too want to upgrade to a longer rod, no drift too long as long as you can see the float

Tried with the 13'6" and was tough getting thru the trees.Tried the 11'6" noodle and that was better.stuck it on a 9' spinning rod and much easier to get around. Just as deadly as on the Steel.

I use an 8' Ultralite with my pin all the time on smaller streams.

Mine will be out saturday on some big water on tionesta creek.  The longer rods r fine on big streams but not for the smaller ones.

Is there an advantage for use centerpin?  Watched some instructional video's, and quite frankly, it looked like it could be more headache than it's worth?  But I have zero experience with them, so feel free to school

On small bodies of water, there is no real advantage. On larger creeks and rivers, the pin gives a great presentation and can cover tons of water. To me, it's just a blast to use. Kinda like a new toy. I use it about 90% of the time, but I'm still not ready to throw out my spin and fly gear.
