ORIGINAL: STEELYS MANFISH Well Bughawk to be honest with u fished all night with only 4 bites and 2 landed then morning came and fish were being caught by every single person present It never slowed down until 12 noon but people were still catching. The bite was really on from 6am till 12 noon. There is no reason for me to b.s. anyone because I enjoy using this site. If there is no rain then where do u think the fish are concentrating in really good numbers? Im sure some of u guys have to know some local fellars or are local and know just what Im talking about and could confirm my report if u dont believe me. Stange things do happen. Sorry if you thought I was not believing you. Past experience when it is low, slow and clear has been very few fish caught. Now that you mention you caught them in the morning, that does make a bit more sense. The water temp is a major issue with steelies I have found. By late afternoon the water seems to be warming up quite a bit and the fish are shutting down. Also, this time of year my experience has been when the light comes up in the morning the fish usually stop biting, especially when the sunlight is directly over the stream. As I said, sorry if I offended you, but your report seemed so out of character for the conditions and other reports I have been getting as well as what I found on Walnut Monday. It seemed a bit odd. But when it comes to steelies, the rule is they don't follow rules. Good luck the next time you come up.
