I always found the fishing better the further downstream you go away from the spillway except late fall or early winter. The rock bass are just as abundant where I go as they were 15 years ago, but they seem to school in pockets along the bank instead of the main part of the river where everything else seems to be. You can catch them as fast as you can throw out on just about anything, and I mean anything. The only problem is that there growth seems to be stunted worse than ever. Possibly worse than the smallmouth ever were (or close).
