now lets complain about noise from bikes,, maybe we should do away with the sirens also on emergency vehicles,,jet noises around airports, train whistles at crossings after 10 pm,cant sleep,, there again , where is the stopping point of making more govt control laws

Alot of times people want those laws. I gather you dont live near airports or trains. Its usually the town that passes these Quality of life laws because the people of the town effected by the noise voice thier opinion loud enough for the local gov. to hear. For the people, by the people. I forgot ,no substance.

Wrong again rock. The airports in ny started directing planes on a different path because the people did not want another plane crashing in Queens , the govt works for us so why cant the people run to them for help. The "FACT" is the gov works for us.

There should be a limit as to how loud any vehicle can be. Maybe there is something like that in place now, but it doesn't seem that way.

There is, enforced in the Erie area though, no.

It is a law in many jurisdictions but it is hard to prove since the decibel meters are handhelds(most are not even trained on the meter nor do the agencies have sufficient funds to get many qualified for it) and the bike has to be going at speed with RPMs up. Idle usually doesn't make it hold up in court after the officer pulls them over. Same holds true for the loud bass in cars.

I remember back in the late 90's the Erie Police were pretty strict on the noise ordinance with cars. You still hear loud cars, but it used to be a new Rap concert at every turn of the light.

yes jonjon, govt is our little helper,my point is they dont think they work for us,, im sure since 9/11 and other plane crashes there are route diversions but we are talking about noise, no relief there cause sometimes that noisealltho a nuisance can also be helpful such as loud pipes on bikes, my harley a good rumble, vance and hines, not overly loud, but you know if i am coming,my v-star,vance and hines also, same style, same noise, stop the bike noise ,many more accidents,my opinion and of many bike owners

I happen to love that noise. But going through a quit neiborhood at 4 am waking up babies and thier cartakers . I dont agree on a ban at all. You can go to a carshow with a very loud rod, and drive around all weekend with no problems . A lot of cops I know are bikers and I dont see people getting a ticket any time in the far future.

There are idiots in or on all types of vehicles, bikes and cars.  Generally, it takes more skill to ride a bike than to drive a car because, small errors in technique or judgement that have only minor effects on car drivers may get the motorcyclist killed.  When I'm riding, I just assume everyone driving a car around me is a fool who doesn't see me and will mess me up at the first opportunity, and I ride accordingly.  That's not to say, I dont make mistakes or that I'm on full alert every second.  I just try to anticipate the worst from every car.  And, truthfully, 98% of car drivers prove me wrong.

I bet aunt nancy is the driver in that relationship. Any how I dont do bikes anymore, hit a tree on a dirt bike , internal bleeding in the leg, cut, kept me off the bikes. Ill do quads, would love another Harley(sold my 98 softtail for school), but it is unsafe in my area, and Im lucky to know I can be a little reckless. Therefor ill keep saving for my 69 CAMARO with the hide away head lights.

I was one year old, Being interupted during my cartoons to see Tricky-dick against my will. I new then that the republicans were no good for anybody, exspecially one year olds.

Get your motor running, get up on the highway, its your right, enjoy it before the right takes it.And the left taxes it, and the middle just watches it happen.
