Anyone been fishing the dam at Sharpsburg on either the dam side or the lock side?  Just wondering if anything is biting.  I drive over the bridge all the time and I haven't been seeing as many fisherman as usual.

Rigged for catfish on Friday with no luck. Used bluegill. The current was fairly strong and semed to fluctuate. Multiple groups of fisherman. Saw some hits but no fish.

Save your time and effort.

From what I have seen, fishing at this location, this year, has been dismal.

Can anyone tell me how to get to the dam?  Tried fishing with a buddy on Sunday morning only to find the access at the Crow's next blocked off and tons of signs posted.  Granted, I haven't been down there in about a year, but usually had some success.  I know there is a tunnel that you can walk through, but had no luck finding it.
Ended up fishing up in Harmerville.  Had a few hits, but nothing landed.  Gent was fishing a little down stream poudning smallies.  Nothing real big, but a good number of fish.  Any advice on dam would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Steel-

I haven't used the tunnel in probably 4-5 years, so could be blocked for all that I know.  Here is how I used to get there though.

1) Tunnel - As you enter S-burg from the Highland Park bridge interchange.  Take the first right immediately after the interchange ramps.  It is some sort of business parking lot.  Off to the right is the tunnel (goes under the road and railroad tracks).  Make sure you have a light, it gets pitch dark, even on the brightest afternoons.  It's for the small stream that dumps about 50 yards below the dam.  I used to park behind the building where ever I would stop seeing the no parking signs.  Kind of sketchy, being hidden back in there.

2)  Across the road down a little, there is an auto parts store I think, that has a path up to the tracks.  The store seemed to always be closed when I fished, and didn't have any no parking signs.

Just show courtesy where ever you park.  Don't litter, or park right next to a building entrance.  No parking signs are sure to start popping up, when people start disrespecting others property.  These very well could be off limits by now.  When I first fished there, the lot right next to the tunnel didn't have signs.

Thanks Pork, I appreciate the input.  I used to park up behind the crow's nest in that business lot.  I was surprised to see the fence across it.  The sad thing is that it probably took 1 idiot to cause an issue and ruined it for everyone else.  Such is life I guess.  I will try to find the tunnel, the directions seem pretty straight forward.  Again, thanks for the input!
