Fished the Loyalhanna yesterday evening, then out to Upper Twin for cats late last night.  Probably up to Conemaugh dam today to continue my mission of catching a pike by the end of the year.  I've only kept about 10 fish this year, all crappie from a day that I found a school of em at Mammoth.  I'd still keep some if I found a nice school of panfish, but I'm primarily a C&R fisherman...because filleting fish can be a pain in the butt. [;)]

Probably go down to the Cumberland right below the dam if they aren't letting out toooooo much water.  there are still big trout in the waters between the dam and 20 miles downstream.

Greg Norman has caused me to change plans. I'd love to see him pull this one out and at the least, avoid another Major melt down.

I fished there the first time the end of May.  Man I can't believe all the times I was in the area goofing around in the past and never tried fishing it seriously.  It's awesome there.  Now that I know that, I have to take a loan out for gas to get there.

I went under-gunned with little trout gear, not the place for a 3wt fly rod or ultralight spin gear, but I got by. Sure wish I would have held onto some of the fish I had hooked. Hope to get back out there soon.

Made my first attempt at fishing from a kayak at Curwensville Dam.  I am hooked!  Two new activities I discovered this weekend: first the bow, now the kayak.  I need a third job!

I got the bug myself. I bought 2 hobie mirage sport kayaks and love every second of it. Cost me a pretty penny(1300 bucks each) worth every penny. The peddaling is better than a trolling motor. If your gonna spend 700 on a kayak, spend a little more on the hobie . The pedals and rutter make fishing from a kayak so easy I cant even explain. Wind doesnt effect you, you dont get wet from the paddles, you can drink and fish and peddal at the same time. Life is good, F-bush anyway.

Fished a local stream tonight, and I'm sorry I ever went.

Found a hole with some nice trout in it and had a few chasing my lures when two guys walking by saw that I was targetting a specific hole and came down, one sitting less than 4 feet from me as they started to fish. [:@]  One of them actually caught one, and then went on to let it thrash around on his line for about five minutes, playing it totally to exhaustion.  Though he tried to throw it back, it died on him, and I think he eventually did the decent thing and took it home.  Still...those are the kind of people that make the first 2 weeks of trout season the only time I dont fish from thaw to freeze, I just wish they'd stay the f- home after that.
