Thanks pghmarty, I did check with the Penn folks and from the information on their website it is going to be a rather expensive endeavor to send the reel to them. As I can best calculate it will cost around $20 to $25 to send the reel to them, have them check it into their system, check to see what the problem is and send it back. That does not include parts and labor. They give an example of what I would assume is a typical repair and it comes out at a little over $50 and that does on include the cost of shipping the reel to them. I guess it is just expensive to repair a reel no matter how you look at it. I am spoiled because I had a guy in Nags Head, NC repair a couple of reels for me a few years ago and basically all he charged was parts and a couple of bucks to put them in. Of course, he is no longer in business and even if so, it would be a bit much to drive to NC just to get a reel repaired... On the other hand I could do some fishing while I was there....[:)] Thanks again.
