Welcome aboard Cliff. Salmon River out in Pulaski is the place for steelies and salmon. You'll find some good pike, bass, walleye and pannies fishing around the capital area and plenty of good trout fishing in the adk.
Tight Lines Mate...Cheers

Aw man, Cliff!

One day too late!  You surely would have gained a wealth of Steelie/King knowledge from many of the guys at the party this weekend.  It's getting to be that time of year and it sounds like a few Kings are already slipping into the Lake Ontario tribs little by little.

I am no pro on either, but many of us like the big trout and salmon!

Welcome to the site, there is lots of info and plenty of humor in this crew.  While we can't rival the natural runs of chromers in WA/OR/Northern CA, the kings in Lake Ontario are as big as anywhere.  Just a very different 'scene'.

Hope to see you out on the water or at a gathering sometime soon!

Ok I'll do the official new member thing. Many know me already but those that don't I'm Matt. I live in rexford. I really do like to fish but just really like being out on a boat. Had a blast at jj2 and thanks to jim for taking the bull by the horns and putting it all together. Although he has had to put up with me for many years. So I'm always up for a day on the water. Come striper season I will be sure to get some of you guys out on what has been refered to as big blue. Great bunch of fun guys on here glad I met all of you

Hi everyone,

My name is Tom. I am from the capital district and was excited to find a board with some people local to me. I have most recently been doing a lot of fishing around the Waterford, Cohoes, Peebles Island area. Mostly from my kayak but occasionally the shore. Always looking for Tips and Advice. I have been having fairly good luck up until last week.

Thanks...I hope so.

Lately, I have been doing a lot of early morning fishing on weekdays before work. It doesn't give me much time but it's better than nothing. I will most likely be around Peebles Island tomorrow from 5:30 to 7:15am. I try to go a few times a week.

I would like meet one day and do some fishing. Its nice to meet new people with similar interests and fish new areas.

Welcome Dan........ i recognize your name and relate it to big lakers!

Alright........................... we now have two serious laker killers on board..............  i say we set up a King Jam 1 for this winter up on the King.

Anyone ever set up a tent out on the ice and stay over?

There's a good reason for that. Something about a 35"+ laker from Lake George Maybe?

***oops*** here is the pic from Lake George - Dan whacked some monsters last year! The last pic wasn't even from the King.
