I forgot to mention that I tied black ants instead of the pupa. It just seemed like a more appropriate fly for the summer.

Fishenfool,
I included a couple deer hair beetles and a few isonychia nymphs for your trouble.

I received mine on Monday. They are all fantastic. The bead head with the silver flash - were these from Pin_drifter? I thought that the ones that I tie from similar material were my secret! I use bead chain for eyes, put a Marobou tail on, then wrap the "Hackle flash" in the style of a wooly bugger. I have the flashy stuff in Silver, Gold, Orange, and Olive. We crushed steelheads in March with the gold. We were at Elk for the first major run, when all those fish decided to go up, instead of laying around with their backs out of the water. The first hit I had with a Silver one just about yanked my fly rod out of my hand. I was not used to such a vicious hit.

fishmonger like that alive emerald i tied. It's something to what you are using. But the stuff i use doesn't come in orange. I know what your using but this stuff is def different. All i know is i kill heads on them.   And that first big run at elk i was their that day up by the log jam hammering them on sacks. I was using the center pin rod. P.S and doesn't come in olive either. Two different animals. Plus i think your using cactus chenille
