We've been doing that for almost 4 years now with the Keystone Crappie Association. We launch at 7 or 7:30 at the rec ramp, fish until 1, come in and cook and talk about fishing styles and try to recruit new members. I've met quite a few good friends from the boards i visit, this way. If you'd like to know more about us, check out the website. www.keystonecrappie.com We always have a good time. I fry fish and everybody brings something to pitch in for the eats. I pick up a couple pounds of minnows for the guys coming up 79, across 80, down 18, across 60, and anyone coming from Ohio. They let me know what they need and i pick them up. I believe there's going to be a fish-together on june 21st. Might be at shenango or Mosquito. You're all welcome to come fish and eat with us. AND you dont have to be a member to do so. Oh yeah.... if you guys just want to get together at shenango, count me in. Be nice meeting the guys from this board.

I was thinking sometime in mid July. Could make it in August. I,m all ears. Ya, Chauncy , I was thinking at the main launch. There are picnic tables and grills there. Plus the johns[image]http://forums.fishusa.com/micons/m9.gif[/image]. Of course camping for those wishing to spend the weekend. Make it a family thing and have fun.

Chaunc, Vickie, Brittany and I tried to come over to your get together, but the gate-keepers at the entrance wouldn't let us in without paying $3 to park. That was a new one to me. Aparantly, not even having an annual launch permit was going to get me in. Hope that was just an attempt at keeping alot of non-campers out of the campground and reduce possible Memorial Day weekend problems. Barry

I think Barry didn't turn left to go to ramp, I think he pulled up to gate for campground; but I was not there to witness this law enforcement action go down. Lets go for July 12th and if there is no fist, gun or knife fights maybe we could do it in Aug too. Went to fishing at Shenago Friday 6th. Caught some nice crappie and one walleye. All trolling.

doski, Yeah, it was at the booth at the entrance to the campground. I thought you had to go through there now since they put up baracades in the one lane of the road to the left going down to the ramp. Although I had already dropped my boat off at home and I was in my car so maybe that's why they weren't buying it. No biggie, I almost always launch at Mahaney. You get your fish pulling cranks or meat? I should be out, hopefully, early Sunday morning my daughter had a football clinic this morning so I didn't make it out. Chaunc, your boy Marlin put on a nice event today. You were right, he seems like a pretty good guy. I have to finish up an email thanking him for taking the time and trouble to put that clinic on. I'm down for whenver you all decide, I'm off and out on the water at some point on most weekends and have three weeks of vacation to burn sometime before September. Barry

Barry You get your fish pulling cranks or meat? It's been two times in a row that I take several dozen Minnows and end up trolling and catching them on deep divers, A bombers the ones that rattle. My buddy was using the same plus white roster tail. He caught some nice white and stripe bass on that. I might go up this evening.

Lets just pick a date and do it. There will be no date that everyone can make it. I'm sure once we have the date more will try to make it and tell others. Once I know the date I will start asking my fishing buddies. It would be great if we could get this going for at least a couple times a year. The fish get to gathers we have with the Keystone Crappie Association are a blast.

Count me in, 8/03, that's a Sunday....yipee! I will bring the pop and water. So, where is a good meeting/eating place near Shenango Lake? Maybe at the docks behind Tara? Any suggestions

For our Keystone Crappie Association fish together we use the shelter by the campground ramp. You can dock your boat near where the rangers dock "don't use their dock" and it's a short walk up the hill. There are bathrooms too. I don't know if you have to rent this before hand or what. This is just an idea, don't know if there are better places or not.

If we want electricity, we'll have to reserve it for that day. Cost $40. So far, that's about a $5 donation a man. If we dont reserve it and someone else does, we wont be permitted to use it. This shelter is probably the most popular on the lake because of it's great location to everything the park has to offer. To reserve it, just stop at the office gate and tell them. They may ask for payment at that time. Or let you know if it's already taken. Or.... we can take a chance and hope no one is using it that day. We wont have electric tho. What ya think?
