Status: offline 		john, great time.  ya dun good.  too all those whom i got to put a face to today, it was a pleasure.  so many of you helped me become a better angler because of the info you all have given.  hope we can do it again.

hey dt and mika, i got home and dug my fly rods out.  assembled one and started practicing.  it has been years.  i have an orvis 6wt and a sage 5wt so i think my wife wants me to have a 7wt for smallies and steelhead.  i know this because she says she wants me to be happy.

chaunc, one question.  has you live well ever been empty?

The food was soooooo good!
Thanks Bob and Smitty for the great looking lures. But I don,t think I could catch near the fish as chauncy can with them.
I did manage a walleye. Ah , It looked to be 5lbs. lol
Again it was very nice to meet you all and thanks, we will definately do this agin next year!
The pineapple was to die for!

Status: offline 		Good to meet you guys, so bad with names, need to do it again a few times! Thanks to everyone. Rap, did I miss meeting you?? (I kinda hope so or my memory is worse than I thought. Maybe next time we could stick around longer, seemed like everyone wanted to go fishin for some reason ! You all were great and the food was excellent. Trolled most of the afternoon with no luck, then found some decent crappie of the point of the swimming area that co-operated pretty good. Cruised the lake at sundown lookin for some whites or stripers breakin, no luck. Did meet the fish cops on the way back cause my back light was'nt tall enough. Tried to explain that once I got all the water pumped ouf of the back of the boat ,it would ride higher !!

Status: offline 		Mika, Thanks for putting this together.  It was great to get to meet a bunch of the guys.  The food was spectacular (big fan of the walleye...).  We need to do this again (perhaps an ice get together...).

To Grandpa and Chauncy, Thanks for the lures, they will get used (already put into their own little section of a crappie box). 

Ice Nut-  You had asked for the recipe to the beans.  I have attached a link  below that I was able to locate.  If you cannot pull it up, let me know and I will post the steps.

chauncy, thanks for sharing and frying up your catch. maybe when you get your own fish maket and restaurant some of your profits can go to a fish cleaning station. hey the filllet's were super.

john, how come you didn't mention the small shad you foul hooked???

rap, after your surgery if you need therapy, come on up for a relaxing canoe ride and smallmouth fishing. you need flies let me know.

gizmo, you're the only guy i know that uses the inside bottom of a boat for a live well!!  do you keep a bailing bucket with you?

dave, i'll pm you my X-wife's tele-number so you can fish lake latonka. right!!!! thanx for the boat ride. oh ya we were fishing weren't we?? oh ya, and good cigar!!

Status: offline 		giz,  i was standing near john, grey t-shirt, camo cap.  we talked for a few minutes about how you were mending.  (i look like leave it to beaver, with greying hair and a double chin).

dt, spent the night casting, looking at flyrods on line and in catalogs.  my wife knows what is coming but again, she wants me to be happy.  will definately make it east one of these days.

btw, nice meeting all of you brown's fans.   chaunc and mika, man, you guys can cook.  food was excellent.

Status: offline 		What a great time it was.  I learned a lot and had a good time.  Oh yeah I ate enough for a week.  I learned that musky and fly fishermen are very excitable people.  I leaned that dragging an anchor around knocks about 5 mph off your speed.

We were, all you did was talk from the time we picked you up until the time we dropped you off and threw your hat at you   LOL. oh ya, and good cigar!! No problem hope to fish again with you, might even get back into fly fishing after listening to you and John, that and musky fishing and duck and geese hunting,,,wow these fish togethers are expensive.

Status: offline 		the last thing i remember was finishing up my tea. my cycle was packed to go fishing in the clarion for smallmouth. i went to the garage and opened the door. there was a fishing rod sticking out of a cardboard tube extending out of my saddle bag. the rod wasn't a fly rod but a spinning rod? i started to tremble in fear. did i bump my head? i started recalling my spinning days. have i become a spin fisherman again? i opened my tombstone saddlebag lid. sure enough there's a shamano spinning reel and a box of rapala's?? what's going on? what the......................................
my alarm went off at 7:05. i awoke in a cold sweat. i turned off the alarm and sat on the side of the bed before getting dressed for work, trying to figure out why i was so tense. i ran down the stairs, skipping every other step. i opened the garage door and there was a spinning rod sticking out of my saddle bag on my cycle. what? then i remembered i was out sunday fishing off of doski's pontoon at the shenango outing. i wiped the sweat off my brow. i went over and opened the side doors of my van. my scott rod and powell fly rod lay on the floor in their rod tubes. my wicker creel sat on the coleman stove and my reel and fly gadget bag llay on the back seat. whew, what a nightmare i thought!!

that's why i was talking more than fishing!! i couldn't figure out how to pull the line out of the tight reel! i wondered who  put that big wire across the spool anyway?

Status: online 		Thanks everyone, when I got home that night, I found my wood chips for the smoker in my box of hunting clothes that the old lady cleaned out of the laundry room.  Next time ribs, guaranteed.   The kids had a blast and caught a few nice crappies down toward the dam in the evening.

Status: offline 		hi guys,justread all the forums on your get together.wish i could have made it too.ill definatly go next year if ya have another.i really want to meet all you guys.ive probably seen all of ya at shenango before.ive been fishing there for over 30 years.i mostly target stripers and eyes.ive been catchin plenty of stripers this year over 30 inches.my biggest from the lake is a 33 incher.i have a polarcraft 16   and  a starcraft  ss 180   if ya see  me up there    give me a hollar.and  chauncy,lets talk about all them crappies you catch.lol     hope to see all of  you guys.
