I had some of Chaunce's northern pike at a KCA fish together last fall, it was great.  Hey I can bring my big a$$ grill and charcoal.  Every one could cook on it.  It's 2.5 *5 ft.

I would like to give pike a try sometime.  Have caught quite a few now while spring crappie fishing and never kept one of those slimey bastards yet![&:] I have heard good things about the taste of pike and especially chained pickeral...about the same flavor I would think?

I'm going to conneaut lake next week and see if i can get a couple northerns. I'll strip em up and marinate them, bread them, then vaccum seal them and freeze them for the get together. Poppa Chaunc's fish sticks.[:D]  I think i'm going to have to eat some before then tho. Guess i'd better catch some first,[8|] huh.[:)]

Ice, Count me as one who would love to help you dispose some of the "fruits from your labor". 

I sure hope someone can show me where to find summer crappies up there because I certainly didn't do a bang up job on them.  That said, there were skiers and bass tournament anglers all over the lake.  Kind of funny, because after the crappies stymied me, I switched to bass fishing and caught 8 LM's in two hours.  5 of them were over 15" and one was slightly over 20" and weighed 5 1/2.  I think I could have done quite well in the bass tournament.  FYI (if any of the bass guys read this), all fish came from the north shore off submerged, standing, live trees  and every one of them came on a Black/Blue Jig with a JuneBug Ugly Otter Trailer.

Shouldn't be a problem helping you find crappies. They're on every dropoff the lake has to offer. Caught 36 keepers saturday, up in the celery farm. Jigs and nibbles worked for me. Just find the wood and they are there. You may not see them on your locater but they're there.

Got a head start on you guys.[:)] Fished this morning and had an excellent day. 12 crappies over 12"s, and a 24" northern pike. Just fish the drops with wood on them and you'll catch some slabs. Me and Pattie caught close to 80, that were keepers but I didn't want to clean nearly that many. Kept less than a limit for the kids.
