Flying Fish -> Clarion River Walleyes (5/21/2008 8:57:23 AM)

I have read some posts regarding walleyes in the Clarion.  The PFC stocks the Clarion with eyes, but does anyone target them and where do they fish for them?

We used to camp at the mouth of the Clarion where it enters the allegheny somebody bought all this property along allegheny including the old railroadbed that was used for a road now posted a few years back But we Did very well at the confluenece for smallies & walleyes and once in a while you would catch a northern pike if you have a boat I would try this area. Also during these trips if high water existed we did well for walleyes (sometimes hit or miss) under the bridge on the Allegheny there in Parker and going upstream towards the Clarion fishing from shore.

That railroad bed is now rails to trails.

I guess in the rails to trails program you can not drive a car / truck back to the old train bridge that crosses the Clarion there? My budddies dad used to take a tepee (spelling) and set it up for a 7 days or so the week before memorial day weekend and we used that for a camp. It was actully very cool and alot of fun

I do not know.

All that land you mentioned between Clarion River mouth and Foxburg was all purchased by a local doctor.  He lives on the hill above the RR.  That whole hill.  The Railroad bed right of way was given to rails to trails, partially for public river access.

And you're right, that's a nice little area.

[:D]I usually land a few about two miles above the millcreek boat launch. It surprised me when I first started catching them.
