GadaboutGaddus -> Spyware/Adware programs (5/8/2008 5:53:33 PM)

Looking for some help in this area! What does everyone run? Are there any free downloads that are worth it regarding spyware/adware. I have been running Spybot and am quite pleased. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!!!

I run Adaware which is free and AVG free for my antivirus.

Spybot-but I don't recommend setting it to run on startup unless you don't mind waiting.

Some of the other programs have popups that are actually what I want to remove.

Cnet has a lot of free programs to choose from.

I use Avast anti-virus and it has worked well.
Free for 45 days then I declined to purchase and they gave it to me for another year.
I tried Avast and it found problems Norton (that came with my system) did not.

I use PC Tools Spyware Doctor for a blocker, and lavasoft AdAware.

Good luck, these things can be a royal pain.

Like others have said, hooked on Ad-aware and AVG worked for me!
