The house boat you and your Family saved all your life for and finally bought. $120,000
2 5/16" ball, correct size needed for your new boat trailer. $12.95

The day you and your family watchs the new boat head down the ramp to be put in the water for the first time, but pops off of the tractor hitch because of the guy didnt use the right ball: PRICELESS

I dont know if that is true but it did pop off of the hitch.
Maybe they should of read the "Ramp Etiquette"

Oh, no safety chains!

Trout About -> RE: OOOP'S (5/6/2008 9:58:38 AM)

I saw it perched up there on Sunday.  I thought it looked odd.  Someone in my office told me that the props got driven up through the bottom of the boat when it hit the ground.

I saw a couple good ones on Sunday.  Someone tried to push, then power a pontoon off the trailer for about 15 mins before realizing that if he backed up another 4 feet, the boat will actually float off.  and a bassboat tried to launch with the tiedown straps still attached.

What launch is that?

Looks like the Yough Lake, across from Jockey Hollow, not sure of the name of that one.

yes its the corp ramp on the Lake Side Marine side of Route 40 Bridge.

Just to let evryone know it was not Lake Side Marine who was putting the boat in.

We should just be glad it didn't happen going to the highway at 65 mph !!!  Could have killed someone or an entire family !!!   I lost my dads utility trailer two years ago ,he got a new one and assumed the hitch was the same size, it wasn't. I was going down a hill at 35-40 mph with a load of fire wood in it and it popped off, the safety chains held, to my amazement. But beat the heck out of the trailer & the back of my dads F150. Somewhere in westPa last year a construction truck lost its trailer and a part of a family died in that accident.
So it is important to check & double check that anything your hauling is connected right. I sure learned my lesson.

I was there when it happened, made a horrific sound as it was going thru the guiderails.  I was fishing on the opposite side of the lake and had my back turned but I sure heard it.  Thank God nobody was behind it when it let loose.

That looks like one Expensive camper. Being that it probably wont float with holes in the hull.
