SENKOBASS -> ARTHUR BASS (5/6/2008 7:48:30 AM)

DOES ANYBODY HAVE ANY IDEAS HOW OR WHERE TO GET SMALLIES ON ARTHER ,FISHING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME FROM A BOAT .NEVER ANY LUCK FROM SHORE.LOTS OF LARGEMOUTH

Bass100 -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/6/2008 8:12:05 AM)

lake arthur smallies can be really difficult sometimes, they seem to move around a lot more than the largemouths, but they are there and can be caught!

Porktown -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/6/2008 8:39:13 AM)

They are definitely not as easy to catch as other places around.  I did pretty well on them in Chartiers Creek this weekend, "trout fishing"...  Pleasant surprise for me, and wouldn't imagine Chartiers Creek is high on the local smallmouth list.  Everyone that I have ever caught or seen caught from Arthur has been over 12", with a few in the 18" range.  There are some real hogs in there, but you'd likely catch 10 largemouths to every smallmouth.  I'm sure if you really know what you're doing, you could probably pinpoint them.  Most that I have caught, or have seen caught, have been chasing around the alewives.  Seems like most of the fish in that lake have alewive on the menu.

While you can find them in many of the same places you find the Largemouth, if you fish where there are a lot of rocks and especially if that area is open to the wind, you will find Smallmouth every time.

I've caught smallies fishing for wipers at night.  I've never done really well there largemouth though.  Or anything really...  [:@]

Oh and making a new post doesn't require more bandwith, it's already on a server...  Thanks for playing though.  Here's a tip...  Look up the word bandwith.

Dream Catcher -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/7/2008 12:39:23 PM)

Used to do well on white gitzits(4" tube jigs )  . Jigging off the bottom near rocky structure . 8 fow or deeper during the heat of summer . One particular area I remember decent holding was by the sailboat marina past nealys point on the left heading back towards 528 launch that rocky shoreline can produce 8 - 16 FOW. Go get em grass carpers !

SmallieKiller -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/7/2008 2:55:25 PM)

...and I wasn't talking to you.  Your post is actually pretty funny.

gobyking -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/7/2008 3:20:19 PM)

Your wasting bandwidth Smallie!

crappiefisher -> RE: ARTHUR BASS (5/7/2008 8:31:00 PM)

Try the west side of Authur. Near neely's point, the 422 bridge and any rocky areas  4-9ft deep banks. Good luck      (try tubes,jigs, or jerkbaits)

                                  Timmy p.s. I mainly catch lots of largemouth,but can catch smallies in those certain locations. Caught a good bit of nice 15-18'' largemouths this week.
