On the news that I seen they had yukon as lead vfd? I didnt know the yough went thru threre?  Wher does that happen at. It would mean fishing there is a whole lot closer then Wes Newton.

Old Man -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/5/2008 7:58:31 AM)

I was there around 3:00PM and saw what was leaking into the river.
They had it contained by dirt piled up,however some was still entering the river.
Did not see any dead aquatic life. People did not like us taking pictures. Went back around 7:00PM till 9:00PM and only after they brought a pump down and pumped did they take a water sample of the river. They did not like us witnessing what they were doing!!

boli -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/7/2008 9:21:34 PM)

Anyone hear anything more on this?

griffon -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/7/2008 9:40:20 PM)

Boli,  I seriously hope that the detrimental effects are minimal, what a shame it would be to see this fishery destroyed.  I can't believe that my railroad buddy hasn't piped in to defend the company he works for... Are you out there or did you go into retirement?  I guess he is asleep at the switch (get it... old railroad humor...)

bubba-jet -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/8/2008 12:01:22 AM)

first off i dont work for csx. second a derailment is always the railroads fault unless someone throws something onto the tracks or tampers with them. third get a life pal...it must be a pretty pathetic one to dwell on the same thing over and over again.

bubba-jet -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/8/2008 11:38:23 PM)

Some kind of paint additive is all the news reported

DanesDad -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/9/2008 12:37:09 AM)

There is a lot of stuff in paint, and I doubt any of it is good for aquatic wildlife.

bubba-jet -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/10/2008 11:08:55 PM)

Estimated -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/13/2008 2:21:19 AM)

Any more news on the Spill?

aranbp -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/13/2008 8:12:34 AM)

I would think it is all okay down there.  Like Bubba jet said the fast water probably washed it away.  I have not heard of any fish floating.

DaGman -> RE: Another Train Wreck !#*% =( (5/14/2008 5:48:44 AM)

Good to hear, i remember years n years ago the last time the yough had a huge fish kill, me n my ex-wife pulled up n parked at the west newton bridge parking area, got all my gear out the car n proceeded down to the river, 2 other fisherman were just coming back up to the parking lot from the river, they said to me "i hope your not planning on fishing the yough" i said why, they proceeded to tell me about a train derailment way upstream n that there was a huge fish-kill & that there were dead fish all over the place, well me thinking theres still gotta be some in there, i gave it a weak attempt anyways, wen't down to the river-waded out to the sand bar & then worked my way up river along the bank, and could'nt believe what i saw, the fish were everywhere, saw some real nice ones floating, "thought.....DAMN!!!" never-ever forget that day, one of the saddest days i've ever had as a fisherman.
