I have an old Shakespeare glass flyrod that I don't use much. Although it was made in the 40's or 50's and has no AFTMA designation, it's about a 7 1/2 wt and quite flexible at the tip, 8 1/2' long, and slow action. I'd like to have a Fuji-type reel seat installed above the handle instead of below. I'd also like to get a trigger-finger grip installed underneath (on the side opposite the eyelets) so that it can effectively be used as a casting rod. I think it would make an ideal short steelhead noodle casting rod. Not so sure about how well it would fare as a fish catcher but with that flexible tip I'll bet it would be a good hook setter. Any advice on who I could see around the Hempfield area to do this type of modification?
