Crazy! http://www.postgazette.com/pg/08315/926847-100.stm A New Castle man jumped off a bridge this morning and into Lake Arthur after a traffic accident on Route 422 in Muddycreek, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. Michael K. Wells, 48, had been traveling east on Route 422 at 5:35 a.m. when he noticed the car ahead of him had lost control on the icy bridge over Lake Arthur near Moraine State Park, state police said. Mr. Wells was unable to stop his Toyota Camry, and it collided with a Thunderbird being driven by Sylvester E. Lane, 35, of New Castle. Both men got out of their cars to inspect the damage when they noticed other vehicles, including a tractor-trailer, barreling down on them. The men ran closer to the concrete barrier along the berm where Mr. Wells jumped into Lake Arthur. Neither man was injured in the accident. However, Mr. Wells, who had been in the water for at least an hour, was taken to UPMC Presbyterian by helicopter for treatment after he was rescued from the cold lake waters. He was in fair condition today, a hospital spokeswoman said.
