Anyone recommend a good place, without taking me broke? I'm in Shaler. I called Zoresco and they said $320. It's only a Windstar, nothing that should cost that much. My uncle had one put on a F-150 for $140, but that was at C&B and they closed. Appreciate the help!

Uhaul sold me one for my Jeep for 90.00. I installed it myself since I needed that night. Was not a hard job at all.

I recommend Uhaul as well. I picked one up for my Jeep.... instock and cheap. Rt 8 by Shop N Save.

I have one in my garage (in Grove City) from a Ford Aerostar van. If it will fit you can have it for $35. (no ball or ball mouint goes with it) P.S. It's a class II hitch and priced it at $35 because of the gas you'd have to spend to come get it. Thanks

I had Uhaul do it, for about $200 on a Jeep Liberty. I'm pretty sure it is just a bolt on application, and wiring can't be too hard. But, they are responsible, if it falls off and causes damage... Most likely you are not going to find one for as cheap as a F-150. F-150's are pretty much made to pull, so there are many more options available. I've checked out hitches for a buddy's Sante Fe, and are over $200 without install. Also make sure you check to see what your van's towing capacity is. If you are going even close to the capacity, look at getting a transmission cooler installed as well. That's another $80 or so, if you don't already have one. Towing is not just your engine. Your V6 will likely be enough to pull 4-5k lbs. Your transmission, is designed to lug around 5 people and groceries...

Speaking of... I just recently bought a used SUV and there is a towing package equipped, but no ball came with the truck. I mentioned this to my duddy who bought a Silverado a few years ago, and he said he didn't get one for this hitch either. Is this becoming the industry standard or just cheap companies? My last car, a Saturn VUE, came with the ball for the hitch. Not sure if this is just certain companies or what.

Too many options for a bar and ball to come with a towing package. 1 7/8", 2", 2 5/16" ball?........6" drop bar, 3" drop bar, straight bar? It really depends on the trailer that you're pulling as to which bar you need. In the past 10 years, I've had 5 different boat trailers. All used a 2" ball, but each one required a different bar to get the proper level. I should have got an adjustable.

Ahh, very true. My old car had the smaller hitch, so it came with the 1 7/8 ball. This car has the bigger hitch, so that would only make sense. [:D]

I bought a Reese class 3 from Advance a couple of years back for my Dakota, it was around $120. They make tons of plug-in wiring connectors for all kinds of different vehicles, they are around $20 at Advance. Total install time was less than an hour, it is a really simple job.

I've had uhaul put on my last 5 hitches and wiring. never had problems and not too expensive.

buy a hitch online and have uhaul install it and wire it up. They guarentee their work which is good as I have had to have them replace the module box 2 times in the past 2 years at no cost to me (winter salt roads corrode terminals and melt the circuitry in the box). What year and make Windstar do you have...I'll see what I can find.

I added something to my above post but to answer the one about whether mounts and balls come with hitchrs, never have I seen a ball supplied but Toyota had a mount with my 4 Runner because their hitch would not accomodate a (longer) standard mount due to the location of the regular size spare tire. Trout About had a good answer for SmallieKillers question. There are too many variables for most buyers.

Give Big Foot out on Greensburg Road a call. They are just before the four lane at Camp JoAnn (Rt 380) on the right side. The phone number is 724-337-7080. I think he told me a hitch for a Windstar cost around $250 installed. That was a few years ago. No matter what type hitch you get for that Windstar you have to drill two holes (one on each side) to install it. I have a Windstar myself and checked them out.
