Was out at twin lakes tonight and caught a few Bass and found the crappie up in the back of the upper lake got a few nice ones too. We put all fish back in for another day to fight. Was really funny tho the club stocked some trout up at the front of the lake by the spill way and the people came out of now where to try and catch a few trout. Funny thing was no one was catching any of them up after they were put in.

Twin Lakes Fishing Assoc. stocked both lakes today for the members fishing derby to be held this Sunday at 8am. prizes will be given for members with the best catch. We will be accepting new members also at the boat house. sam

Hey sam What does it cost to join the Twin lakes fishing Association? I also figured you would like to know that we were catching a few of your favorite last night. First time in a while that we have caught any crappie at all and they were caught on lures.

Tom, $10 for adults,$5 for kids. We have been catching crappie & nice perch since the last of March. were you using that spinner you usualy use? sam

Yes I was using the spinner I use and my son was using a rapala floating minnow color was hot steel(orange belly with blue/gold top). Hope to see you out there soon seems like we have been missing each other. Tom

I was out at the lower lake from 6:30-11:30 and not even a nudge of a bite. I used wax worms, maggots, & crawlers. Some people I meet last week were having luck on power bait extera scent. Maybe my next trip to the bait store. I did manage to watch two large snapper's swimming aroud. I was really dissappointed in the park for the derby. It was dirty, trash everywhere. Soda cans, to go cartons from varrious fas food joints ect.

Biggest trout was over 20" (20 1/4 if I remember correctly) Saw a good many fish caught and the club had 2 LARGE picnic tables FULL of prizes for the winners and door prizes. The officers did another great job! Thanks!!! PS you can do what I do and take a plastic bag with you and clean up after the slobs. I always leave that place with more than I went with!

Missed the derby today other pressing engagement to go to. Sounds like a nice trout that won the derby. Hope everyone had a good time sounds like they did. Hey Hufftynboy1967 I know that there is a lot of slobs at twin lakes guess it is just something that happens but Trouthater is right just take an extra bag and try to pick some up. It is not always the fishermen that leave the trash either. But when I see empty bait container and other fishing related trash it tics me off too, but some people are pigs no matter what. Hey Sam found them crappie again on Sat up in the front corner on the side with the small lot. Guy was catching few on live minnows and I got a few on the fake ones too. They are so much fun to catch, most caught were nice size 7 to 9 inch range.

Hows twin lakes been since the derby? I hear the sportsman club put in some nice ones. I always fish by the point next to the stage that runs into the water...i can never seem to cast far enough to be in the deep but somehow i still catch a few little ones!! Hows everyone else doing out there?

Ever since the season opener, Twin Lakes has been almost totally unproductive for me, so I've started going to other areas more, instead. Like Mammoth, the Loyalhanna, Keystone, and recently, Conemaugh. Every time I go back to TL, I get a few random panfish, but in the month before trout opened, I caught at least three times the trout I have since.

On triblive.com there is an articale about car breakins, at twin lakes & mamouth as well. Very interesting reading. But alot of it has to do with just some common sense. Also gbg pd reported break ins as well in the northern part of the city & eastern part.

i also havent done well at twin lakes since recent stockings, i didnt get skunked once there right after ice out til the season closed, since it opened back up ive only caught bass and blue gills. i think the spot ive been using is too shallow. not that im complaining, any time i catch anything im happy. maybe its the pressure? oh well, 5 bass in 10 casts aint too bad.

Oh yeah, I always say as long as I catch one fish I'm happy. But it is kind of disappointing that a place that meant such good fishing a few months ago is now a place I tend to avoid from lack of production. Mammoth's going the same way of late...:(

i got 31 bass this evening at twin. Caught them on a rubber worm, 1 was about 4lbs and the rest were the twin lakes usual size. I saw a decent many people catchn panfish and bass

yeah, sounds like ur average day of bass fishin at twin lakes... except the four pounder, were you fishing the upper or lower lake?

i was both lakes most came from the lower but the bigger one came from the upper, i got 44 today and my buddy got 15 i saw one that was pretty big maybe a 4.5-5 lber but some people kept thrown bread at it so it was spooked I just wish they were bigger, they need some musky in that lake

Was out there last night, reeling in the usual suspects (a bunch of small bass and bluegill), though a family did pass me carrying 2-3 stringers full of large crappie, so they are out there...well...maybe not anymore... Boy, the carp are jumping everywhere down there, though. I spose they're either hungry or horny, but whatever it is, they're not biting anything with hooks attached.

i saw some swimming off the spillway the other day (lower lake) they were monsters wish i could bow fish that lake..
