cjbs2003 -> Turkeys and Mountains (4/24/2008 4:58:04 PM)

Where my family's hunting land is, in Bedford County is basically on the top of a mountain. In the fall there are plenty of birds around. However when I spring turkey hunt it, I hear gobblers sounding off like crazy, but almost always down in the valley, not up on the mountain side. I do not have access to go chasing them on private land into the valley. We do have a food plot which seems to attract some hens and jakes, but I have never seen any strutting zones or any sign that the birds use it much more than a food source in the spring. Any ideas on how I can get birds to want to climb the mountain??? Thanks!
