After further review it appears that both "holding" and "Illegal use of hands" occurred on the play, however since the challenge flag was not thrown before fishing resumen the catch counts, however a disciplinary 15 yrad penalty will be enforced on the next possession and the fisherman must start fishing from 15 yards away from the stream.

We have ruled that the fisherman entered the water, then exited the water, and proceded to be the first fisherman to make contact with the fish.  Therefore, we must rule the recovery incomplete.  No Catch!

It looked like he had caught the fish, but did both feet come down in the creek before he made the catch?

if he had a net out before the line breakage than he had good intensions on basket catching him so i'de rule for a fair catch because of good intensions. if he hadn't a net at all or the net was not in play when the line broke, i'de say no catch!
i wonder how many lures are in his belly from break-offs?

Dude, youre holding the brookie of a lifetime... no smile

I think most of the time in pa when we see guys with these records its lack of teeth. Or, they are just too cool to smile.

Was not caught in a true public water way..while granted was open to anyone willing to pay to fish thier. The fish was 21in long with a 15.5in girth and certified next day at 5lb 10oz.. I do however have one just a few oz's low in weight I got from woodcock creek years ago that was 20 1/2 in 15in girth 5lb 6 oz a very nice fat female. Here is a pic of her mounted.

I saw a different article in a different paper a while ago. I forget which paper it was, but supposedly he stocked the fish himself from the stocking truck. Im pretty sure thats what one paper said I have to look. I dont think it should be a record.

I'd have to agree.

So, the state raises state record size fish, stocks them in the creek to be caught a couple weeks laters, and they are considered a record?  Sounds extremely artificial to me.
