Youghman -> SW Yough outing today (4/19/2008 8:49:44 PM)

Good to see everyone who made it to Van Meter. Enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Good stories and plenty of laughs.
Plenty of food and we even got the grill to work. LOL
Mike, that cherry juice was the bomb!! That'd make you bring back things you never even stole. It really tested my will power to walk away from that. Very nice work.
Doug now I know your secret weapon.
Pat thanks for all your help.
As usual the Smithton Boys were well represented.
See ya' on ther river.

Trout About -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/19/2008 9:34:39 PM)

Nice meeting all of you.  Patty had a good time too.  71, I posted those rod handle pics on the other thread.

71gto -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/20/2008 7:55:44 AM)

First, to everyone that showed up, my hat off to you. To those that didn't come, it was your loss. The weather was great, the fish were putting on a show for us as we watched from the banks. Youghman is one of da BEST chefs I have met (once we got the grill going...nyuk nyuk nyuk....I think he needs a piece of raisin pie? And TA, you have to tell the Boss (Patty), how much I THANK for mixing up the deer and sausage together!  I am making no comment about the cherry juice! [image]http://forums.fishusa.com/image/s1.gif[/image] I think Jonesy travelled the furtherest from Slippery Rock, someone correct me if I am wrong, and the HairyApe's sauce was dynomite! The handrolled cigars were very very good. Did anyone see Mossy Oak there? Not sure if 222, Mossy gave too much Beam! Did Pete remember to take his camera home?  And Ax, why you always smiling?...hehehe!

TA, I am going to look at those pics, thanks for reposting them!

Youghman -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/20/2008 8:44:48 AM)

I forgot to thank Big Ax for his sauce. It made everything taste even better.
Pete is was nice to meet you and keep at it, you looked like you knew what were doing out there. Will you be able to post the pics you took?
Amazingly, Dunny aka/"The Ghost" didn't leave his rod and drive home. I think he's finally listening to me about putting it on the hood of his truck. Hell, it only took three rods for him to learn.
The funniest thing was thinking of Dunny coaching pole-vaulting and Big Ax coaching the high-jump!
Can you say, "Oxymoron" ?

PeteM -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/20/2008 11:57:32 AM)

Hi Guys. That was a great time! The food, the people and a whole lot of laughfs.

I remembered the camera, and should have the photos up a little later this afternoon.( glad I left it on shore. It may not have survived the trip out into the water[image]http://forums.fishusa.com/image/s2.gif[/image].)

Thanks to everybodyfor putting together a great day on the Yough.

222 -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/20/2008 1:52:35 PM)

It was great to meet everyone.  Ax your dad makes the best sauce I have ever had.  Youghman was  darn handy with that grill. 71 is a barrel of laughs.  Mossy great cherry juice.  We had enough firewood to last a month.  Look forward to seeing you guys again.

Guys,

I enjoyed it greatly. I wish the turnout would have been a little better  but those that were there were great.  There sure was a lot of lies being told.  Almost needed to wear the waders on shore.
Ax, success was mine, in case you are wondering, and I know you are.

Hey guys, I said that I'd give an report on Yough Dam..........Well, we didn't make it.  The radar showed thunderstorms out that way, so me and Patty went bluegill fishin' instead.  Here is what's gonna be dinner later this evening.

griffon -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/22/2008 9:56:14 PM)

Hey Mossy and 71, sorry I didn't make it.  As I mentioned I was out of town.  For the last several days, I was in Boone, NC trout fishing.  I took a ton of pictures (not digital) and will attempt to scan them when I get them developed.  I missed seeing you guys, but I will tell you one thing for certain.  If you ever get the opportunity to fish the Smokies for trout, jump on it.  This was possibly the best trout fishing I have ever been exposed to, even over the western streams.  The Smokies are legendary and the streams absolutely lived up to their reputations.  Glad to see you guys had a great time, we will get together some day I am sure.  Griffon

PeteM -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/22/2008 10:41:59 PM)

Nice work 71. Thanks. I couldn't get that pic posting thing down.

I did mix up another batch of the burger though, and man, I'm hooked on those.

71gto -> RE: SW Yough outing today (4/23/2008 6:22:49 AM)

Griffon and PeteM,

We understand about not being able to make it, we are going to have another in the fall, so hopefully you will be able to make it. And you are right about fishing the Smokies as I had to opportunity back in the mid 80s when I used to visit some customers we had down there. It was always to have to leave there, as the fishing was great.

So Pete, you like that combo of the deer meat huh? Next time I will bring some hot peppers I grow in the garden and put a little more heat with it.

Take care guys.
