GadaboutGaddus -> Little Mahoning/ What's up (4/18/2008 9:34:18 PM)

Can anyone shed some light on what is happening to all the trout in Little Mahoning fly fishing only section. I helped stock it back on March 15, 2008 but have been hearing nothing but bad reports as to the number of fish being caught! We put in 2600 fish on that day. Just got off the phone with my buddy in Indiana, PA. He told me that he lasted a total of two hours this morning. Fished about a 1/2 mile section of water he fished last week and didn't raise a fish. Caught ten in this same section last week. He said the water was low and clear and he could not see any fish in this section. Two other people I have talked to have mentioned the same thing. this is very disappointing to hear. What a nice stream to fish in the past. Have the fish moved due to poor water quality or are they being poached out. I have received a report that in a section of water that runs thru state game lands, there has been a lot of beer cans found in places along the stream. These sections are away from the road and can only be accessed by wading to them. I don't believe that it is kids finding a place to drink at!!! Has there been a change in the water quality? Any info would be helpful. This flyfishing only area is one of the longest in the state! It is a great stream!!!!
