Sorry if that bothers you guys. I mean no offense by it, but we do eat the fish we catch. This is why we fish. We eat the walleyes, the crappies, the gills and sometimes (but not very often) the trout. Being raised here in native country it is no different than harvesting the leeks beside the creek. Brookies taste better to us than any hatchery dog food fed trout. We NEVER take more than we want or need. I teach my kids to be sportsmen, to never waste a thing from nature and to enjoy the harvest. I have fished the same creeks for nearly 40 years and the same holes are still full of native brookies. We eat the turkey, squirrels, rabbits, and deer we harvest. It is our way here. It is the way it was taught to us by our fathers, our grandfathers. I am sorry it offends you, but it is a way of life here.
