carp stalker -> Trout (4/12/2008 5:10:45 PM)

Do people realy eat those tiny little over sized minnows. Or do they just throw them in the garbage when they get home ?  I like carp fishing i throw them all back in the lake before i come home and that way the garbage don't smell all that bad the next day.

Never liked to eat them, till today.  Put 6 in the smoker, just pulled them out......Awesome!!!!

There is a reason that all the carp are always left in the lakes and rivers,,,they eat garbage so they taste like it,,,not that trout taste much better. Pellets aren't may favorite taste either.

Actually trout can be a very delightfull dinner, if cooked the correct way, the smaller the trout, the better tasting usually.  You have probably never cooked one but a good recipe would be stuffing it with crabmeat and lots of butter, oranges, and lemon.  Unless, you cannot cook.....

A bit of a miserable unnecssary poat from carp.

I find filleted trout deep fried to be excellent, with browns having more flavour than rainbows.

I have to agree with taildancer on stuffing them with crab meat and what not... Can't go wrong with that at all and definitely one of my favorites...

My wife makes Trout Patties, and she and the kids love them.  As long as they keep eating the heck out of em, I'll still keep some

Stocked trout fight good but I'll take catfish and bluegill anyday over trout, and carp on the fly are about the most exciting thing in freshwater.

Trout filets seasoned and marinated  then put in the dehydrater for about 6 or so hrs. are great.....fish jerky!!!!!
