ORIGINAL: SmallieKiller That and Fleury isn't a big game goalie, he folds under pressure. How are those two myths holding up now? The thing about Fleury is not that "he folds under pressure". It's that "he has always folded under pressure in the past". Until a guy proves he can do it, you just can't assume they will suddenly change their proven track record. Fleury has failed in everyu pressure situation since being drafted, that's just fact. He got yanked twice for Andy Freaking Chiodo, twice for heaven's sake. He made the error that cost Canada a World Juniors Gold Medal, which he admits contributed to his fear of playing the puck, until this season, over 4 years later! And Fleury has excelled these playoffs. He has silenced his doubters, of which I "was" one. Not any more. I know he had all the skills, but doubted if he had the ability to not get so down on himself. Now, it'd be time for you to give Ryan Whitney some credit, right? Britney, the purse swinger, played the game of his life last night. 50:46 in ice time. Broke up I don't know how many scoring chances with his stick. Played "defense" as in defended his goal from scoring chances, with aplomb. As well as standing in for Gonchar when he went out. Stellar performance by Ryan Whitney. That game last night was awesome. I couldn't go to sleep for an hour after it was over.
