I really expected more, from the Phlyers. Yeah, yeah they are down two defensemen, but it has been the PEN'S defense (including the forwards) that have made the difference, not the Phlyer's.

Detroit is going to be tough. They are extremely methodical. The Pen's have better speed, and energy though, and they're going to need every bit of it. Like I posted before, we haven't seen the likes of Detroit, but they haven't seen the likes of the Pens either. Osgood has played well, but I have to give the edge to MAH in net. It will be a very tough series, and game one will be a challenge for the Pens to win. I believe the winner of game two, takes the cup.

Stevens was awesome after the game "His feelings really don't matter right now." Downie will not be in game 4. Not that it matters, but he won't play. The Flyers look beaten and I think this one is just about over. Granted anything can happen, but I just don't see the Flyers winning 4 straight, especially with 2 of those in Pittsburgh.

Of course since these series have both gone 3-0, Red Wing fans on Hockey Futures have become unbearable. Apparently the Penguins have zero chance and shouldn't show up if they beat Philly. We have no goaltending, no defense, and Crosby whines and dives...

I have to agree there. They don't seem to have the motivation to do much of anything. They'll be pushing it to lace their skates completely.

Upshall has been in the middle of a lot this series. The kid plays hard, but as a team, the Flyers are just being held in check. The Pens aren't allowing them anything on offense.

I dont know about looking beaten, they certainly have not played good hockey this series, a lot has to do with the Pens, some has to do with missing their defensemen. I would hope they come out with some desperation tomorrow night, something they have not shown this series.

I was actually getting nervous towards the end of the Montreal series. I thought they played average over all with a few moments of greatness and thats why they won.

Down 2-0, and back on home ice, you would expect them to come out with as muich fire as they can produce. Apparently, THAT was 8 shots in two periods.

downie's got to sit, I dont recall anybody calling him a big game player though, I' ve never seen it.

Stevens called him a big game player....not yet IMO, but his is young and he'll get smarter..

Steve Downie will never be anything more than a "Darcy Tucker" type player. Very physical, with some skill, and borderline dirty. Oh yeah, I forgot to add stupid... He's going to be a great addition to the Flyers. But as you said, once he smartens up a little. You can see the kid can play, but he makes so many horrible decisions. All that being said, he's a young player and he'll be fine. He's trying to make a name for himself.

Looks like that's going to have to wait however, the Viking Warrior has been added back into the line-up and I would assume that means Mr. Fabric Softener is in the press box.

Also, word is Coburn might play tonight. Hopefully he does, hate to see anyone get injured like that, especially to the eye.

Detroit couldn't get it done last night, although the refs helped Dallas big time... Hopefully the Pens can get it done tonight, I want to do some t-shirt shopping...

Ok - this is what I stand to lose tonight if the Pens win:

1. I will owe a lunch to two administrative assistants who do not know the difference between a hockey puck and a tennis ball. All they know is that "Pittsburgh is in it."

2. One dinner to a guy that only knows what Fox Pitt tells him via Burt and Ernie.

3. Wearing of one Penguin T-shirt during the first week of my Summer Session class. Thank goodness this will only be for a total of 8 hrs.

So...for those who may be celebrating this evening, there may be others who will be feeling some pain. Cheer them up and pass along well wishes.
